Carré Pastels - Rembrandt

Rembrandt Carré pastels honour the centuries-old tradition of using natural materials such as chalk, china clay and coloured earth. The Carré pastels are an exclusive range of eighteen traditional colours, namely earth colours, greys, white and black. Theses special sketching colours are currently only sold in sets. The raw materials are the same as those for Rembrandt soft pastels, but applied in a different ratio. This makes Carré pastels less soft and ideal for sketching or drawing. The Rembrandt Carré pastels have a number of important features:

• A high colour release and colour intensity
• The highest possible colourfastness
• A good adhesion on practically all types of paper
• Washable

Did you know?
Ultramarine is a blue pigment with ‘traces of red’. Mixed with bluish reds it offers numerous possibilities for creating surprising shades of violet. In addition, Ultramarine is often used as a transparent layer in the glazing technique. If applied thinly on a white ground or by mixing it with a little white paint, the characteristic, intense, clear blue colour is created.
