Purpose: Durable protection of an oil painting (final varnish)
Composition in bottle: Synthetic resin, turpentine, white spirit
Composition in spray can: Synthetic resin, white spirit
Qualities:
· Apply when paint film has completely dried (6 to 12 months
depending on the paint film thickness)
· Dries in a few hours
· Does not yellow
· Produces high gloss
· The gloss can be reduced by mixing with Picture varnish matt 003
· Can be thinned with white spirit or turpentine
· Clean brushes with white spirit or turpentine
· Dry layers of varnish can be removed with white spirit or turpentine
· Flammable (in spray can: extremely flammable)

Ultramarine is a blue pigment with ‘traces of red’. Mixed with bluish reds it offers numerous possibilities for creating surprising shades of violet. In addition, Ultramarine is often used as a transparent layer in the glazing technique. If applied thinly on a white ground or by mixing it with a little white paint, the characteristic, intense, clear blue colour is created.
