  • Cardmaking with Watercolour

    "Little Girl In The Garden"

This was produced by painting in a stamped image using my Rembrandt Watercolour Paints, which I have in 5 ml and 20ml tubes, these last for a very long time and I would not know where I would be without them as they are incredibly lovely to work with. I do use these Talens Rembrandt Watercolours to produce a painting ie, say a botanical painting or seascape also but, I tend to use a lot for handcrafting my own cards. Continue reading

  • True Love Card

    Rembrandt Watercolours

Rembrandt Watercolours are the BEST watercolour paints I have come across in my time of painting. I have been working these beautiful high quality paints for almost 5 years now and have not gone back to using any other brand. Why? Because the richness and vibrancy of their colours and quality are amazing. I have never come across a watercolour that is so beautiful to work with. The magic of these is in the richness of colour!

The card seen above, is a make I did for a challenge on the Crafts Beautiful Forum. Continue reading

  • Glass Painting Flower Cards

    Painting Flowers with Glass Paints

I made this card using a Glass Painted Flower that i hand drew out myself, I then went over it - on the acetate - with Relief Paint and allowed to dry for 24 hours before filling in with the Decorfin Glass Paint, made by Talens. I used a Blue for this and once dry, lying flat while drying, I glued on a paper rose just to give it that finishing touch! Adhered this Glass Painted to two different papers and Voila!

  • Glass painted Butterfly

    Painting a Butterfly

I used several patterned papers and layered them on each other breaking up with white card to help balance it all off. The Butterfly I drew around a stamped image and I simplified making it easier to fill  in with the Glass Paints. I finished with embellishing with flowers and papers roses and a bead and then did Faux Stitching - drawing fake stitch marks. Really enjoyed making this one too and feel it works really well!

  • Mothers Day Card

    Hand Painted Mothers Day Card

I have not made any Glass Painted cards for a few weeks now and plan to make some more soon once I have some new designs drawn out and filled in. So, In the meantime (being that I want to Blog 3x a week)I want to share some previous handcrafted cards of mine I have made recently with the transparent glass paint.

This card below is what I made for my Mum for Mothers day. It it not the proper Easel Card but, something similar using a double folded 14x14cm card and using all sides of the card. I have used a very basic and simple outline of a Butterfly here and embellished on top of layers of the same patterned paper and embossed a silver flourish under the butterfly for interest, using a stamp and heat gun. The finished card went into a box I folded up and decorated to finish!

  • Wedding Anniversary Card

My husband & I are celebrating our 3rd Wedding Anniversary and this is the card I made for my One True Love for our special day.

I drew and glass painted two hearts, small and large and decoupaged it to give dimension! I adhered it to layers of silver and white flourish shimmer paper and used a blue paper bordering the rectangle of flourish paper for colour balance. I finished off with stitching on sequins and beads (transparent sequins I used in our wedding stationary) and then added on a separate smaller rectangle for the message "On Our 3rd Wedding Anniversary". I then took a friends idea of  adhering paper inside the card with a message on top.

Thanks for looking and hope you like it!

  • Card Makes

This is a card that I made for a swap where I have used the Glass paints and Relief paint to make the Heart and have then adhered it onto patterned striped paper and used embellishments to finish it off and adhered to black card to allow the glass painted topper to stand out!

  • Toppers, Experimenting with Glass Paints

    First time with Glass Paints

I have never been one for working with Glass Paints but, I thought I would give it a go but, use it for my cardmaking rather than on glass itself! I think after doing these experiments though I might just want to push my boundaries and further my experimenting onto glass.

These experiments are just my first samples I have done over the last few days. This is a glass paint high in intensity of its colour. Rich and vibrant and beautiful to work with. Continue reading
