Lovely craft
I simply love relied paint for use in all sorts of crafts and painting too. The idea of relief paint is to use in glass painting for sectioning off colours in a design so that the glass paints do not bleed with each other (unless you want them to bleed into each other for whatever reason). The relief paint gives a 3d effect and stands out once you filled in each section of your design. I have used relief paint only on canvasses I have to admit and created artworks on these, just to be different. I used along with the glass paints on the canvas and loved the process of drawing lots of lines with the relief paint over my pencil lines (the pencil lines are not seen once the relief paint is dry - unless you use the colourless relief paint. You can use also for script to create a lovely 3d effect in your writing and can also use in your paintings to create wonderful textures and effects. The list is endless with relief paints. A handy tip to know with these is that you can use them to fill in any little gaps on frames so long as you get the right colour to match the frame. My husband did this when you was doing framing within our business. Just do not use on lightweight surfaces as will be too heavy for the surface.
