Sandable Hard Gesso - 3.78L Bucket

Gessoes serve the purpose of a protective layer between support and paint. GOLDEN Gessoes are designed to penetrate the supports and provide a surface that paint can adhere to well. Gessoes increase the lifespan of the artwork.

The GOLDEN Sandable Hard Gesso can be sanded down to extremely smooth surfaces. Note that it is only suitable for inflexible surfaces like hardboard, wood or metal as it will cause cracking on absorbent surfaces like canvas.

Apply in multiple thin layers as single thick layers have a tendency to crack upon drying. After drying it can be sanded down with wet or dry sandpaper.

Stir before use.

It’s a suitable ground for both acrylic and oil paints.

Unfortunately due to extra packing and shipping costs, we cannot do this on some product, mainly oversized ones such as large canvases.
